Iran's cultural representative in Peshawar, Pakistan, gifted an Urdu translation of the Holy Quran to the Minister of Religious Affairs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.


 
 
According to the peshawar.icro.ir website, the Iranian official had a meeting with Habibul Rahman, the Pakistani minister on Friday, November 20.
 
An invitation letter by the Secretary General of the World Assembly for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought was also submitted to the minister inviting him to attend an international conference slated to be held in Tehran on the Islamic Unity Week.
 
He was gifted a copy of the Holy Quran translated into Urdu language by two Shia and Sunni Muslim scholars.
 
Habibul Rahman thanked the Iranian official and expressed his willingness to travel to Iran.
 
Elsewhere in this meeting, the Pakistani official expressed deep sorrow over the Mina tragedy and said that the exact number of Pakistani Hajj pilgrims killed in the incident has not been determined yet.
 
In a crush of pilgrims in Mina, Saudi Arabia, on September 24, over 7000 Hajj pilgrims from different countries, including at least 465 Iranians, were killed.
 
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, known also as KPK, is one of the four provinces of Pakistan, located in the northwestern region of the country.
