Living for years on the dream to travel to hajj, an elderly rickshaw puller has worked hard with firm determination to save money to perform his life dream of visiting holy Makkah for hajj.
Performing hajj has been a lifetime dream for Jahangir Khan Abbasi, a 62-year-old rickshaw puller form Agra city in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh state will start his journey to Saudi Arabia on 22nd of August along with his wife Zeenat Begum.
Working hard in his life, Jahangir Khan kept saving money to make his dream come true.
Starting as a simple rickshaw puller, he later purchased few rickshaws and gave them on rent.
In those years he took care of his children and got them all married.
Taking his first step to fulfill his life dream, he applied last year for hajj but he was not accepted.
Reporting the story, Muslim Issues website wrote that the story of Jahangir Khan Abbasi reminds us that “No dreamer is ever too small; no dream is ever too big and ‘patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish”.
Muslims from around the world pour into Makkah every year to perform hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam.
Hajj consists of several ceremonies, which are meant to symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith, and to commemorate the trials of Prophet Abraham and his family.
Every able-bodied adult Muslim who can financially afford the trip must perform hajj at least once in a lifetime.
