Love and affection come along with knowledge and affection paves the way for obedience. If one's knowledge of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them) and his love for them is a genuine one, it will certainly bring about obedience. As a matter of fact, knowledge and affection are the exordium of obedience and submissiveness. If a son buys a gift for his mother on mother's day and says to his mother: " O my mother! May I be sacrificed for you, and I love you wholeheartedly." After a couple of hours, his mother asks him if he can go to bakery and buy some bread. But the son rejects his mother's request and treat her in a cruel way. This type of his behavior shows that the sentence "may I be sacrificed for you" was only a superficial and shallow expression of love and affection. This son not only is not ready to sacrifice himself for his mother but he is not even ready to trouble himself for buying bread in order to have his mother satisfaction.
