Indian official: Iran peace plan best way to overcome Yemen crisis

Secretary General of Indian Welfare Party described Iran peace plan for Yemen as the best practical proposal to overcome the country's crisis, saying that implementation of the plan will pave the ground for curbing crisis and stop killings of innocent women and children.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif laid out a four-stage plan including establishing ceasefire, sending humanitarian aid, Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue and setting up a government involving all parties to address crisis in Yemen.

Secretary General of Indian Welfare Party Qasem Rasoul Elyas told on Thursday that Iran's peace plan is a suitable approach for solving Yemeni crisis.

Immediate establishment of ceasefire is essential for preventing murder of women and children, he said.

Currently, Saudi and several Arab states' planes are blocking entry of humanitarian aid to the country which is in dire need of food and medicine, he said.

Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue are among the contents of Iran's peace plan, Indian official said, noting that contrary to certain countries' propaganda, Iran is not seeking to interfere in the country's affairs and makes efforts to prevent killings of innocent people in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia's military invasion on Yemen will not solve the problems; rather it will aggravate the regional crisis and endanger global and regional peace and stability, he said.

Criticizing UN for its silence regarding Saudi attacks on Yemen, h noted that the entity's silence has paved the way for further killings of Yemeni women and children.

Qasem Rasoul Elyas called on the UN to break its silence against Saudi attack on Yemen and take urgent measures to stop invasion on the country.
