Kosovo Islamic Community to Restore Islamic-Antique Works

In a meeting with Martin Perschler, a high-ranking official in the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Naim Ternava, Grand Mufti of Kosovo announced that Islamic-antique works of the Republic would be renovated by the Kosovo Islamic Community.
At the meeting held at Dar-ol-Ifta of Muslims in Prishtina, capital city of Kosovo, the Grand Mufti introduced the cultural public heritage and Muslims’ cultural heritage to his guest.
He said that about 218 mosques, a large number of devoted places and the Dar-ol-Ifta of Muslims in this country were destroyed when Serbia invaded Kosovo in 1999.
“The 600-year-old rich heritage of Kosovo Islamic Community was also destroyed at the invasion and that was a great loss.”
The American official then appreciated the detailed explanations provided by the Mufti about the cultural heritage of Kosovo and the attempts of the community in revival of the collection stressing that the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US embassy in Kosovo are ready to cooperate with the Islamic Muftis Office.
