Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Chuvash is a Turkic language spoken in central Russia, primarily in the Republic of Chuvashia and adjacent areas.
In a meeting held yesterday in the capital Cheboksary, Muslim scholars of the Republic of Chuvashia stressed the need for Chuvashi people to read the Quran in their language and approved a plan to translate the holy book into Chuvash.
They also asked government authorities to help them in implementing the translation project.
The Republic of Chuvashia is not large, but is one of the most densely populated regions in the Russian Federation, with a population of 1.3 million people.
