Eid Milad-un-Nabbi Celebrations Reach at Peak

-- Preparations for celebrating the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) have reached at their peak as people have decorated homes, mosques, streets and bazaars with bunting, flags and lightings to express their warm love and reverence for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The dwellers of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have displayed a large number of banners and posters all around inscribed with Quranic verses, ‘hadiths’ and poetic verses..

Though in some areas of Rawalpindi, the associates and party workers of different political parties and candidates have displayed banners and posters as part of their election campaigns, the overall atmosphere for celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabbi (Peace Be Upon Him) kept on gaining momentum.

Children, in particular are taking in these preparations with great zeal and enthusiasm as they are actively engaged in decorating their homes, mosques and nearby streets.

Besides, several groups of youth and children have been going door to door t o collect funds for celebrating the event. They are also busy in erecting decorative doors and models of ‘Khana Ka’aba’ and ‘Roza-e-Rasool.’ (Peace Be Upon Him) in their respective areas.

Nauman Ali, a child told APP that he and his friends had decided to decorate their town with colourful bunting and lights besides participating in the Mehafil-e-Naats. “Throughout the year we keep on waiting for this auspicious day,” he said.

Ladies of different areas have also planned to arrange Mehafil-e-Naats at their homes. “Since the start of Rabi-ul-Awal we have been holding Mehafil in our homes, but on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal we have planned to hold a grand Mehafil,” a female Mussarat Sultana told.

Most of the markets in the two cities have already been decorated and illuminated. The shopkeepers have set up stalls of items related to Eid Milad celebrations such as stickers, badges, bunting and flags. While some of them have displayed banners and models of ‘Khana Ka’aba’ and of ‘Roza-e-Rasool’ in front of their shops.

Different religious parties and organizations have also planned to hold ‘Mahafil-e-Naat’ on the day of Holy Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Him) birth at some prominent places. They have also planned to take out Milad processions in different localities.

“We have already been taking out torch-bearer rallies and holding Mahafil-e-Naat in since the start of Rabi-ul-Awal. On 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal we will participate in main Milad processions,” said Malik Tanvir Ahmad, a member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. He said his organization had also planned to hold a grand Naat Mehafil on the day.
