Head of The Islamic Seminary: Islam, a civilized religion

"We believe Islam is a civilized religion, so we stand against those theories aimed to marginalize Islam and its teachings. If the Islamic seminary demands to establish a new form of civilization in the world, then it needs to provide the necessary conditions to realize its objective,"
Speaking at a gathering of students in Haqani school this morning, Ayatollah Arafi, Head of the Islamic Seminary said, "Our seminaries enjoy a long distinguished history, they benefit from appropriate traditions, getting to know this wonderful history will increase seminary student's self-esteem,"
Referring to the thousand-year-old history of Shia seminaries he added," We must be proud of having access to such a great system which has earned numerous scientific and moral honors throughout its distinguished history,"
"We believe Islam is a civilized religion and therefore we stand against all those theories aimed to marginalize Islam and its teachings. If the Islamic seminary demands to establish a new form of civilization in the world, then it must provide the necessary conditions to realize its objective," Ayatollah Arafi asserted.
He further stated, "Implementing a futuristic strategy, considering the distinguished history of the seminary, in addition to reviving the identity of the Islamic seminary are the main points which can develop the seminaries and fulfill its potential,"
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Arafi urged the society to fully be aware of Islam's adversaries and the West's plots and said, "Today, The Islamic seminary holds such a great position that the whole world respects it, on the other hand, the antagonist are due to damage us,"
"It's impossible for the Islamic seminary to progress unless the students be aware of their position, they must also be cautious of the enemies' plots,"
Highlighting that to familiarize oneself with the West is a necessity to further scientific and moral progress of Seminary students, Ayatollah Arafi reiterated," holding a global perspective is a major requirement for a seminary professor as well as a student. Provided such a condition, the Seminary's scientific and moral status will be in accordance with the Islamic revolutions principles," he concluded.
