-- Iranian Hajj Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Reyshahri described essential attributes of Islamic scholars and preachers.
Addressing an international Muslim scholars and preachers' convention, organized by the Iranian Hajj Mission in Mecca, Ayatollah Reyshahri said that having good knowledge of the Quran and Hadiths, mastery over various aspects of Islam, being able to seize the time and knowing the audience are 5 characteristics Islamic preachers must possess.
He added that those who lack these qualities can not be good preachers of Islam and the school of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
Ayatollah Reyshahri cited spiritual refinement as a key factor for preaching Islam and said those who want to serve the religion must invite people to the school of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) with their behavior and conduct before they do it verbally.
"Those preachers who are only good at giving sermons but have not purified their soul are not worth anything," he stressed.
