7th International Islamic Book Fair Opens in Delhi

The annual International Islamic Book Fair of Delhi has been started and inaugurated by Sirajuddin Qureshi, President of Indian Islamic Cultural Centre and Safdar H. Khan former chairman Delhi Minorities Commission.

The fair contains books from Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Beirut, U.S.A. and U.K. besides of course India.

When MG asked Dr Faisal Faheem of Alhasanat Books about what's new in this times book fair he said that new books from Darussalam Publishers, A biography of Hadrat Ali (R.A.), and urdu translation in roman script of award winning Ar-Raheeq-ul-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar) which is a biography of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri.

Other attraction at the fair will be section for Adhan (call to prayer) clocks of various designs and sizes. People in metros do find it difficult to heard the Adhan of the local mosque, so these clocks can be setup up to play the Adhan at times as you want.

Dr Faheem also said that this is the first time they will display Alcohol Free Deodorants, perfumes and expect them to be well received by visitors. One bottle is priced at Rs 150 and are named Al-Jannat, Rehmat e Firdaus, Gulf Oudh, White Oudh, Red Oudh, Shahenshah.

The organisers plan have a section for Children Books and Games, said Dr Faisal Faheem of Alhasanat Books.

Books in English, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic on topics ranging from Islamic History, Hadith, Quran, Fiqh to Management and Computer Sciences.

The fair will be for 9 days and will go on till 26th October.

The venue has a prayer hall and food court. The fair attracts people not only from cities neighbouring Delhi but also from far on cities, said Mr Shahzad of Alhasanat Books.
