In an interview with IQNA, Colonel Behrouz Geraei, who is in charge of the present Quran competition, said as many as 500 contestants are now competing in 10 categories featuring partial and entire memorization, recitation, Tarteel (reciting the Quran in slow measured rhythmic tones), concepts, as well as Adhan (Islamic call to prayer).
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Quranic figures serving in the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution, including director of the Dar-ol-Quran center, Colonel Mohammad Ali Bahari, and head of the supreme leader’s office at IRGC’s Ground Forces, Hojat-ol-Islam Rezaei.
The 2-day competition concludes today by awarding the selected contestants, who will be honored during the closing ceremony, he noted.
Abd-or-Reza Seddiq, Mohammad Reza Abolqasemi, Hossein Akhavan, Amir Aghaei, Amir Askarpour, Mohammad Hossein Zeinolabedin, Amin Pouya, and Mohsen Amiry constitute the members of the jury panel of the contest, Colonel Geraei told IQNA.
