The first national seminar of holy Quran translators will be held on February 24, 2011, by the Quran Research Center of Qom Seminary in the holy city of Qom.
This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Rezaee Esfahani, scientific secretary of the seminar who also told IQNA that it would be held with the cooperation of a number of religious institutions in the city.
The call for attending the seminar will be announced late in November, he added.
He further noted that the seminar is aimed at introducing and honoring Quran translators, investigating the errors in Persian translations of the Quran, as well as sharing views about composing a common methodology for Quran translation.
Quranic centers are required to introduce their representatives to attend the preliminary sessions of the seminar by November 21, Hojat-ol-Islam Rezaee said.
The seminar will be attended by 50 Quran translators and professors as well as over 70 seminarians studying Quranic sciences and interpretation, he went on to say.
