Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Lady Michele Renouf, a British activist, told Iran news agency that Islam is not yet well understood by world people unfortunately.
“Unfortunately, people worldwide don’t understand well what is Islam. “The truth about Islam is not spoken,” Renouf said on the sidelines of the 4th International Conference on Imam Khomeini and Foreign Policy, themed “Justice in Politics, International Relations and International System, held here at Foreign Ministry’s Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) on Wednesday, June 2.
The scholar, who makes films on “swindle speak, “ said, “We are told the very opposite of the truth all of the time in the media, except for Presstv and occasionally Aljazeera.”
Hailing the late Imam Khomeini as “a wonderful role model”, she said, “In the West, we share the classical tradition of scientific attitude and Imam Khomeini raised it."
She provided a famous quote from Imam Khomeini: “Reason is the eye of justice.”
Meanwhile, she said, “Unfortunately, the West has lost its way; it has been swindled out of its traditions and we look in fact to Iran to aid us back. Four classical virtues should not be separated. Scientific attitude, justice and courage. Imam Khomeini exemplifies all of those.”
Asked about Israeli attack on Gaza aid convoy, she said, “We have to actually bring the UN itself to account. They did not rely on proper evidence. Five supreme court US judges at the time in 1945 and 1946 said there was no justice. And the UN is based upon that. It is quite obvious that it is a privileged veto from the beginning to the end. There is no justice without historical truth. There is no international justice.”
Asked about her objective in attending the ongoing meeting, she said it is only in Iran that she can express her mind and champion the right of the academics.
“The scientists, the forensic investigators that are imprisoned in Europe, I champion them, their right. It is only in Iran where it can be done. In the 2006 Tehran conference we spoke there. It was a superb historical conference.”
