--Head of the Arab Blood Transfusion Services, Abdulla Bin Zamel Al-Drees, called for the establishment of an Islamic society for blood transfusion services.
Abdulla Bin Zamel Al-Drees has put forward a formal request for the establishment of an Islamic centre for blood transfusion services to the Council of Arab Health Ministers. He said the Islamic Development Bank and the Muslim World League would contribute to the implementation of the plan.
Referring to the activities of the Arab Blood Transfusion Services he said that it played a great role in helping the wounded in the 22-day war in the Gaza strip.
The Arab Blood Transfusion Services was established in 1979.
