Khums is one of the rights of God we must do. How ungrateful and mean are those who are not willing to pay the right of God from their properties! Is not God the creator of man and the true owner of all his possessions? From all the wealth which the mankind has been granted, God has only demanded a small share. If someone owns a few hectares of fruit orchard and then make someone else responsible for a year or so and tells him: you are the owner of this orchard and all the trees and its fruits and you can have whatever benefit from this orchard, but at end of the year, give me a few baskets of fruits. If this person refuses to give the real owner of the fruit orchard a few baskets of fruits, is not this behavior against chivalrousness and gallantry?!
