Those wise people at the time of Hazrat Moses (AS) were also businessmen and had their normal lives, they could also save to the extent they needed, but they give their additional income and properties to the poor and needy out of charity and generosity. They repeatedly advised Qaroon that: " And seek by means of what Allah has given you the future abode, and do not neglect your portion of this world, and do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you, and do not seek to make mischief in the land, surely Allah does not love the mischief-makers"(AL-QASAS -THE STORY-77);
There are numerous destitute, poor, needy, the sick people, especially those with severe illnesses and diseases among us, if we help them, we can achieve a good hereafter, but when the money is our lord, it certainly curbs our proximity to Allah Almighty, if the chair we sit on at our job, if the science and knowledge we have, if the beauty we have, if our husband or our wife, or according the Holy Prophet, if the stone become our God, they never let us move and go forward. For example, if you ask a stingy affluent person that we are in Rajab month, it is a month of downpour of mercy, and helping the needy financially is recommended and plead him to spend some money for sake of Allah Almighty, they stare at you, and they cannot move so as to build their proximity to Allah Almighty, because they are facing a huge obstacle.
