Professor Ansarian: I hope that the tradition of preserving the works of Ahlul-Bayt (AS) is revived at Shi'a's home

Professor Hussein Ansarian hopes the precious tradition of preserving the works Ahlul-Bayt (AS) specially the great book of "Usul al-Kafi" is revived at Shi'a's and believers home

Many Iranian people know Professor Hussein Ansarian through his great lectures and speeches during some special religious occasions such as Ghadr nights, Muharram and Safar month and so on, but the fact is that a few people are aware that this erudite scholar of Quran have also written many excellent books about the Islamic principes and knowledge

The elderly people and those who have lived their lives during the Islamic Revolution and eight years of holy defense can vividly remember that the lectures and speeches of Professor Hussein Ansarian who was known as “Sheikh Hussein” had greatly impressed people and he used to spread the principles and teachings of Ahlulbayt in the communities with his unique and perfect voice and intonation. Even those young people who were in the fronts for fighting barely missed the great lectures of professor Ansarian.

Although he prefers to be called only a teacher not professor or something, perhaps a great deal of people do not know that this popular lecturer has written dozens of books that the book "Islamic mysticism" which is in 14 volumes is just one of his works that has also been translated into Arabic and the books on the description of the supplication of Kamil, the commentary and description of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, forty Hadiths of Hajj, the family system in Islam, the culture of love, the price of life and the system of education in Islam are among his other books.

few months ago, the deputy director of the supervision of the publishing of DarolQuran al-Karim Organization announced that the translation of the Qur'an by Professor Hossein Ansarian has been at the top of the translations of the Qur'an by 316,000 copies and is one of the most popular translations.

Two years ago, Ahmad Haji Sharif, the deputy director of the Dar Al-Quran al-Karim organization, said that more than 120 books from this translator and exegete of the Holy Qur'an have been published and this professor has donated the translation of his Quran to the Dar Al-Quran al-Karim organization so that any publisher can use his translation at no cost.

In addition to the translation of the Qur'an, Professor Ansariyan has also translated Mufatih al-Janan, Sahife Sajjadiyeh and Nahj al-Balaghah and we have recently heard that he is going to translate the book of Al-Kāfī (The Sufficient Book). Al-Kafi has been written by Muhammad ibn Ya‘qūb al-Kulaynī who is known as Sheikh Kellini, one of the fourth century scientists. And this expensive book is sufficient for Shi'a as one of the four mastery books in the hadith

For this reason, for took advantage of the opportunity and the translation of professor Ansarian was also a good excuse so that the IRNA correspondent had a conversation with this erudite lecturer which the questions are as follow:

Question: Given that Al-Kāfī (The Sufficient Book) has already been translated into Farsi, what is the reason for your translation?

Answer: a few reasons have drawn my attention to Usul-Al-Kafi. First of all, the great thirst of the younger generation for the traditions and narrations has been one reason that I could easily witness this thirst in my ceremonies and during my lectures in different places and cities. I have the tendency to translate this book into a way that would link young people with the traditions of the infallible Imams (as). I wanted this translation to be in a way that the young generation can easily have intellectual, conceptual and spiritual communication and relation with this book and it narrations, not in a way that they read one page and then give up with ambiguity and fatigue.

The second reason was the young clergymen, even those who have completed higher levels, it is difficult for them to obtain the concepts of narrations, their desire inspired me to translate the book of Al-Kafi.

The third reason is that I was invited to Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences in order to translate "Bab al-Ashrah" of Al- Kafi, and asked me to write a nice and beautiful translation for this book. After a while, this center gave all the traditions of Bab al-Ashra to an Arab expert and my translations were also read by someone else. Then they invited me again and asked me to explain a few minutes about each narration so that the people who speak Persain (farsi) can listen to them while driving or in their spare times and learn the correct way of living from the Infallible Imams. Having seen this translation, they persistently asked me to translate the whole book of Al-Kafi which was a difficult task to do.

since I have translated the Qur'an, Nahj al-Balaghah and Sahife Sajjadiyeh and Mufatih al-Jannahn, they asked me to translate this authentic and worthwhile narrative book as well, because conceptualization of the narrations is difficult. there is also a narration in Usul Al- Kafi which says: «إِنَّ حَدِیثَنَا صَعْبٌ مُسْتَصْعَب» meaning: our narrations are the most difficult ones while this difficulty is not true about Quran. Because the Quran itself say: «تبیان للناس»:  «یسرنا القرآن» but we don’t have such things about the narrations.

Literal translation is not something important, but understanding what has been in the thoughts of Imam (AS) that are in the form of words and terms is of great hardship. They could finally convince me to do this word, and if it were not for the help and mercy of Almighty Allah, despite my old age and numerous lecturing programs and ceremonies I have, this work was not possible at all.

It's worth noting that there were some defects in common translation, which were needed to be corrected in the new translation and also some efforts must be made in updating of its literature.
