Bahrain Uprising Shakes the foundation of Al Khalifah Regime

Bahrain Uprising Shakes the foundation of Al Khalifah Regime

Developing the popular uprising in Bahrain will shake the very foundation of Al Khalifah regime," Ayatollah Faqihi said.

Addressing the recent events in Bahrain, Ayatollah Mohsen Faqihi said, "The current situation in Bahrain has led the Al Khalifah regime to crackdown its Shia majority and to suppress them in an inhumane way," he said in an interview with Hawzah News Agency.

"Bahraini Regime must stop confronting eminent religious scholars including Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassim who are expressing people's rights and demands,"

The seminary lecturer further asserted, "During recent years and months, Sheikh Issa Qassim as well as his numerous followers has never engaged in arms struggle, rather he has demanded people's legitimate rights from the regime and has asked them to recognize their rights; but instead of having their voice heard, the Al Khalifah have suppressed their voices and treated them in the most brutal way,"

"It's in the best of Bahraini regime's interest to appreciate such great leader who encourages his followers to hold rallies in a peaceful manner instead of confronting its people and carrying out irrational actions such as revoking the citizenship ofSheikh Qassim, ," he added.

"Our advice for the Al Khalifah regime is to seek this opportunity and hear Bahraini Ulema's voice, respect their citizens' legitimate demands; they must beware if this popular uprising develops, their regime will be in serious danger," Ayatollah Faqihi concluded.
