Pakistan: A Shiite Government Official Shot Martyred

DI KHAN, Pakistan - A Shiite employee of the Works and Services Department, Syed Mujtaba Shah was on his motorbike, going towards DI Khan city, when he was shot dead near Bannu Chung when terrorists opened fire on him.

According to Cantt policeman, Mujtaba belonged to a Shia family, however, the motive behind his murder has not been ascertained as yet.

The region is close to the war ravaged northwestern tribal belt and has for many years remained a soft target for taliban militants.

His funeral prayer was offered at Hussaini Chowk Thala Yallah Shah, while burial took place in Kotli Imam Hussain earlier yesterday in the evening .
