Enemies Have Resorted to Soft War
-- The enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran resorted to cultural onslaught, i.e. the “soft war”, after they failed to achieve their objectives through imposing a military war. This is according to Tuba Kermani, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Greece speaking to IQNA on the sidelines of the 8th congress of cultural attachés which is underway in Tehran. “Our revolution has been a cultural one and such a revolution can not be defeated through military invasion. That is why the enemies turned to cultural war or soft war,” she said. “In order to be victorious in this kind of war, we need to put our trust in God and employ new methods to strengthen and promote our Islamic and Iranian culture.” Ms Kermani stressed the role of cultural attachés in creating a strong front against the enemies’ cultural onslaught and said, “We need to plan a mechanism, based on the perspective and the principles outlined by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in order to present the Islamic culture and the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the world.” Islam has the best and most perfect messages for humanity and if we present these messages properly, we can be sure they will attract hearts and minds, she added. She also stressed the importance of prioritizing addressees based on the cultural and social conditions of each country and said that Iran’s cultural attachés ought to know their addressees and plan their activities for promoting the Islamic culture accordingly. The 8th congress of Iranian cultural attachés started Monday, March 1, and will be running until Monday March 8.
