Obstacles in Qur'an's Understanding (2010-08-31 11:57:10)
The reciter of the Holy Qur'an in order to have more and better understanding of its objectives in addition to above-mentioned deliberations should also endeavour to remove the obstacles which prevent its understanding. Otherwise, not only would they not be benefited from its recital, on the contrary might suffer even losses. Some of the obstacles which might prevent Qur'an's understanding may be listed as follows:
It has been said that extreme precaution about the grammar and too much emphasis that all the words should be pronounced correctly with precision is something which closes

Some Special Distinctions of the Holy Month of Ramadhan (2010-08-31 11:45:08)
Regarding special distinctions of the Holy Month of Ramadhan and spread of Allah's blessings during this month, a lot of important points have been mentioned in narrations - the points which could be useful and constructive for those who possess an enlightened heart and sense of understanding. Following is a brief description of those narrations:
1. Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), pardons seventy million people, who are being punished in the Hell, at the time of Fast-breaking (iftar) during each night of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, and at the end of the Holy Month forgives an additional

Dua'a Nudba (2010-08-29 18:59:51)
In the name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. And blessings of Allah and peace be on our Chief Muhammad, His Prophet, and on his children. O my Allah! (All) praise is for Thee for that which Thou decided upon and resolved in the matter of Thy friends, whom Thou purified for Thyself and Thy religion. When wisdom and high rank from Thee, prostrated themselves in adoration before them (from the Bountiful Preserving Lord), for whom neither there was any decreased, nor dispersion thereafter, then Thou stipulated for them

Dua'a E Kumayl -Taught by Imam Ali(as) (2010-08-29 18:45:21)
ORIGIN OF THE DU'A Kumayl Ibn Ziyad Nakha'i was a confidant amongst the companions of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as.) and this sublime Du'a was first heard from the beautiful, though anguished, voice of Imam Ali.
According to Allama Majlisi (on whom be Allah's Mercy) Kumayl had attended an assembly in the Mosque at Basra which was addressed by Imam Ali in the course of which the night of the 15th of Shaban was mentioned. Imam Ali said-"Whosoever keeps awake in devoutness on this night and recites the Du'a of Prophet Khizr, undoubtedly that person's supplication will be responded to and g

A Glance at the Early Period of Islam (2010-08-26 14:17:15)
The Holy Prophet was asked about the amulets used for seeking a cure, (Ghazzali reports that the question was about both the spell and the medicine) whether they could forestall a divinely ordained destiny. In reply the Prophet said that they themselves were a part of destiny (Bihar al-Anwar). He meant to say that their healing effect was also divinely ordained.
Imam Ali (a) was sitting under the shade of a bent wall. He moved from that place and went to another wall. Someone said to him: “O Commander of the Faithful! Do you flee from a divinely ordained destiny?”. He said

THE ROLE OF IMAM ALI (2010-09-02 23:45:34)
question comes up for discussion about those, who deny themselves and go on without everything though some of them are able to be in easy circumstances and take pleasure in easy life, but they fall into habit with containment and keep aloof from a luxury life.
From immemorial time secession from worldly pleasure had been regarded as a means of purification of spirit and improvement of inner serenity.
Those, who wanted to keep aloof from the worldly attachments, used to go out of cities and stay in the forests or take refuge in the caves of mountains to worship God according to their

The Importance of Salat (2010-09-02 22:58:45)
The Prophet of Islam (Peace be upon him and his family) has said:
"The Salat is the most important act of worship in the religion. If Allah (SWT) accepts one's Salat, then all other acts of worship will be accepted, and if the Salat is not accepted, then all other acts of worship will not be accepted either."
He (Peace be upon him and his family) has also said:
"One who does not pay importance to the Salat and considers it as something insignificant, is worthy of punishment in the next world."
( Five hadith from The Prophet (s) about Salat )

Traits of The Prophets in the Bible (2010-09-02 22:08:43)
1. The Bible, in John 7:2-10, accuses Jesus (P) of lying:
"But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, Jesus' brothers said to him, "You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." For even his own brothers did not believe in him. Therefore Jesus told them, "The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil. You

The Last Will of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.) (2010-08-31 13:49:28)
Imam Ali's (AS) last will to his sons Imam Hasan (AS) and Imam Hussain (AS) after the attempt on his life by a stab from Ibn Muljam: My advice to you is to be conscious of Allah and steadfast in your religion. Do not yearn for the world, and do not be seduced by it. Do not resent anything you have missed in it. Proclaim the truth; work for the next world. Oppose the oppressor and support the oppressed. I advise you, and all my children, my relatives, and whosoever receives this message, to be conscious of Allah, to remove your differences, and to strengthen your ties. I heard your gr

O Allāh, Satisfy Every Hungry Person (2010-08-31 10:42:55)
أَللٌّهُمَّ أَشْبِعْ كُلَّ جَائِعٍ
O Allāh, Satisfy Every Hungry Person.
Experiencing Hunger
One of the philosophies behind fasting in the holy month of Ramadān is to experience hunger and thereby understand the situation of those who are hungry and cannot afford to feed themselves properly. The following tradition quoted by Mawlā Fayd Kāshānī from Man Lā Yahduruhu’l Faqīh, speaks of the same: in an authentic narration, Imām al-Sādiq (as), whilst explaining the philosophy of fasting, says:
أَرَادَ اللٌّهُ عَزَّ

The Supplicant’s All-Embracing Spirit
[Allāhumma aghni kulla…]:
One preposition employed in nearly every verse of this supplication is “kull” which means “every”. The supplicant always tries to seek the betterment of every human being. He assumes a Divine spirit throughout the invocation. Egoism no more exists. He frees himself from the shackles of yearning only for the betterment and comfort of his self. The Holy Prophet (s) and his infallible prog

Islam recognizes the sexual needs of human (2010-08-26 14:53:53)
The Islamic sexual morality is fundamentally different from that of the Christian Church. This is because of the all-encompassing nature of the Islamic shari'ah. Bertrand Russell says, "Great religious leaders, with the exception of Muhammad and Confucius, if he can be called religious have in general been very indifferent to social and political considerations, and have sought rather to perfect the soul by meditation, discipline and self-denial." (Marriage and Morals,p. 175-176) Yes, Islam has surely not been indifferent to social problems. The Islamic sexual morality is also fund

Martyrdom (2010-09-01 01:43:56)
When the Seceders were annihilated one of the companions of the Imam said to him: "Ameer Al-Mumineen the Seceders have perished completely." The Imam said: "No by God they are still sperms in the bodies of men and wombs of women. Whenever a "horn" of them appears it will be cut off until their last generation becomes thieves and robbers." ( 1)
The Imam was not deceived by his victory against the Seceders. He did not believe that their death meant the death of their doctrines or that it represented a drastic solution to their problem. He was fully aware that doctrines and principles do

Love For Imam Ali(A.S.) In The Qur'an And Sunnah (2010-08-31 13:46:27)
byMartyr Ayatullah Murtuda MutahhariWhat we have said so far has shed light on the value and influence of love, and it has incidentally become clear that love for the pure ones is a means for the reform and refinement of the soul, not that it is an end in itself. Now we must see whether Islam and the Qur' an have chosen someone we should love or not. When the Qur' an relates what the previous prophets have said, it points out that they have all said: "we do not ask a wage from people, our only reward is from God." However it addresses the Seal of the Prophets thus: Say: "I do not ask of

The Secret Of Imam Ali's Force Of Attraction (2010-08-31 13:45:31)
byMartyr Ayatullah Murtuda MutahhariWhat is the reason for the friendship and love for 'Ali in people's hearts? Nobody has yet discovered the secret of this love, that is, no-one has been able to formulate it, and say that if it were like this then that would follow, or if it were like that then this would happen. However it does of course have a secret. There is something in the love which dazzles the one who loves and draws him towards it. This attraction and love are the highest degrees of love; 'Ali is the one whom people's hearts adore, whom humanity loves. Why? In what does 'Ali's extr
